No. It’s an ultra-distance motorcycling adventure. There are no rankings, only personal satisfactions.
Any motorcycle capable of handling offroad sections and long road transfers. Adventure motorcycles are highly recommended due to their versatility, comfort, and reliability. Your bike should be equipped with luggage, side bags or soft panniers, tools, and all essentials to support you throughout the entire journey. The goal is to be fully self-sufficient.
You can choose between two categories: Roadbook or GPX. Roadbook is digital only, with the Terrapirata navigation app (iOS or Android) and a dedicated device such as a tablet mounted on your bike. GPX navigation can be done with any GPS device like a Garmin, a tablet with an app, or similar. In addition, the organization will provide a tracking and safety device to enable live tracking of all participants and ensure maximum security.
The event is entirely unsupported. Riders must manage maintenance, navigation, and logistics independently. However, the entry fee includes insurance coverage for assistance in case of personal injury during the event.
Participants are responsible for arranging their travel to the starting point in Paris and from the finish line at Nordkapp.
We recommend extending your journey by riding back through the stunning Norwegian coastline. However, if time is limited, an optional motorcycle transport service will be available from Alta (approximately 240 km from Nordkapp) back to Paris, at an additional cost. This will allow participants to return home quickly and comfortably by plane. Pricing and details for this service will be provided once we have a clear estimate of interested riders.
Gates are strategic checkpoints placed along the route. Each gate opens and closes at specific times and includes:
- A Malle Moto area with workshop, tools, tire and oil service
- A social gathering and festive moment for all riders
- A skill-based challenge awarding bonus credits
- Convenient tourist-based accommodation
- Arriving outside the time window means disqualification.
- Riders must rest at the gate before continuing.
You’re out of the event. Riders must always stay on the defined route and complete it in its entirety. You may leave the track for logistical needs (e.g. hotel, repairs) but must resume exactly where you left off. Thanks to the live tracking system, the organization will detect any cuts or irregularities. Shortcuts or skipping a gate result in disqualification.
Absolutely! The spirit of the event is also about sharing. You can sign up as a team, but you must ride together at the same pace. Being in a team allows better load distribution and problem-solving flexibility. Even if you sign up solo, you’re free to build “alliances” with fellow adventurers along the way. The spirit of adventure will be your common language.
While the route is never extreme or overly technical, unpredictable weather and surface conditions can make sections challenging, especially for unprepared or fatigued riders. This is why we ask you to prepare for your adventure both physically and technically, ensuring your gear, motorcycle, and mindset are ready for the journey.
