PARIS–NORDKAPP 2026
Update v1.3 • September 19, 2025
1) Identity and Spirit of the Event
Paris–Nordkapp is an Ultra Motorcycling Adventure starting in Paris and finishing at Nordkapp. It is not a race; there are no timed sections: every kilometre is an integral part of the route. The goal is to live a navigation-and-endurance adventure, in keeping with the spirit of the event: reaching Nordkapp.
2) Definitions
• Route: the event’s course. For the Rally categories, the route mixes tarmac and off-road (the latter suitable for mid- to large-size trail bikes with possible luggage) with a total length of about 6,000 km (for the 2026 edition).
For the Explorer category, the route is entirely on tarmac, over 7,000 km (for the 2026 edition) and can also be tackled with a passenger.
The Route is divided into sections that are made available to participants one section at a time. Each section is the course to follow to reach the next Gate.
• Gate: mandatory meeting points for participants along the itinerary. Gates are spaced about 3 days apart (approximately 1,500/1,800 km depending on the Category). Each Gate has a date and a time window within which it must be reached and validated (by stamping the PNK Passport).
• Out of Time (OOT): the condition of not having reached a Gate within the indicated time window. You may still continue the adventure and reach the next Gate (or Nordkapp, if this occurs at the last Gate) by choosing your own route autonomously; in that case, you will not receive the official event route from the organization.
• Finisher: the status obtained by those who complete the adventure and reach Nordkapp. To balance fairness with flexibility, different Finisher trophies are awarded at the finish.
– Finisher HERO: validated 100% of the route
– Finisher PRO: validated at least 85% of the route
– Finisher SURVIVOR: validated less than 85% of the route, but skipped no more than 1,500 km
– Finisher: all other participants who reach Nordkapp
• Categories: the groups into which participants are divided, depending on the chosen way to tackle the adventure
– Rally RoadBook: mixed tarmac/off-road route; 100% navigation with a digital roadbook (a second GPS device is required to complete the route in case of issues with your digital roadbook).
– Rally GPX: mixed tarmac/off-road route; 100% navigation with a GPX track (a second GPS device is required to complete the route in case of issues with your main device).
– Explorer GPX: 100% tarmac route; 100% navigation with a GPX track (a second GPS device is required to complete the route in case of issues with your main device). A passenger is allowed.
– TEAM: sharing is part of the Paris–Nordkapp spirit. You can enter any of the categories above as a team, committing to travel together at all times and at the same pace. Riding as a Team allows better distribution of load and tasks and greater flexibility in solving any issues.
There is no minimum or maximum number of Team members, but the entire route must always be validated together (no more than 5 minutes between the first and last member). Each participant will have their own tracking and safety device and must move together with the other team members, both in smooth sections and in difficulties or slowdowns. You must select the option by indicating your Team name in the registration form or, if later, no later than the registration deadline.
• Joker card: if obtained, according to the procedures described during the Gate briefings, it allows you once only to cancel the penalty for having skipped part of the route between one Gate and the next in order to arrive within the indicated time window.
3) Paris–Nordkapp Rule
The only non-negotiable rule: reach and validate every Gate within its scheduled time window.
In case of mechanical or physical problems, you may shorten the route to reach the next Gate on time: this may change your Finisher status, but it allows you to continue the adventure.
4) Other Paris–Nordkapp Rules
– Every kilometre is part of the route: there are no liaisons or special stages.
– Each participant’s route is recorded and verified via the GPS tracking and safety device provided by the organization (included in the entry fee).
– If for any reason (e.g., refuelling, repairs, overnight stay, meal, etc.) a participant leaves the route, they must rejoin it exactly at the point where they left it.
– There are several types of waypoints marked on the route and common to all Categories:
Safety Waypoint (WPS) – indicate hazardous or sensitive areas (dangers, intersections, populated areas, mandatory passages, speed-limited sections) and must be strictly respected.
Control Waypoint (WPC) – points to be validated along the route
Navigation Waypoint (WPN) – for the Roadbook category only, waypoints that support navigation with the digital Roadbook The activation and validation radii of waypoints, for the Roadbook category only, may vary depending on type and context and will be detailed during the briefings.
– Failure to comply with Safety Waypoint prescriptions or access to prohibited areas results in immediate exclusion from the event.
– Any other irresponsible or dangerous behaviour results in immediate exclusion from the event. Absolute respect for local communities, the environment, and the highway code is required.
– Each Gate has a time window for reaching it that may vary from 18 to 3 hours (on the indicated date) in addition to the 3 days. Further details will be provided during prior Briefings.
– Once the event has started, if necessary you may request to switch from the Rally RoadBook Category to the Rally GPX Category, or from a Rally Category to the Explorer GPX Category. Reverse switches are not allowed.
– For all Categories, in case of failure or malfunction of the main navigation/roadbook device, you must immediately contact the organization, which will, if necessary, send a GPX track by email to be used on the second GPS device that each participant must carry.
Any participant in the Rally RoadBook Category who reaches the next Gate using the emergency GPX track on the backup GPS device will have two options upon arrival:
a) repair/replace the digital RoadBook device to continue in the same category
b) continue the Adventure in the Rally GPX category if it is not possible to repair/replace the digital roadbook
– For communications during the event, the participant must carry and provide the organization with an active phone number. They must also periodically check the official WhatsApp feed to stay updated on any new instructions.
All communications delivered during briefings, via email, WhatsApp or any other digital channels (including the website) are to be considered official and may be part of, modify, or supplement these regulations.
– There is an Advance Team that will ride about 4 days ahead of participants, updating the route and roadbook and ensuring safety and enjoyment.
In any case, in the event of problems, natural disasters, or unforeseen road closures, each participant is obliged (in the spirit of mutual respect and collaboration) to report them immediately to the organization. The organization will provide, as far as possible, a solution and will inform all participants.
– Inside the Gates, participants may use the services provided by the organization in the Malle Moto area, with tools, stands, and everything needed to carry out maintenance and minor repairs on their motorcycle (spare parts not provided).
Free lubricants supplied by partner companies will also be available.
In addition, a tyre-changing service will be available (by reservation and for a fee) offered by partner companies.
– Assistance: the event encourages self-sufficiency, camaraderie, and a “Dakar spirit” among participants: helping each other along the route is part of the Paris–Nordkapp ethos.
Relying on local workshops or tyre services, or on other private/personal assistance to fix problems is not forbidden. However, it is essential to rejoin the route exactly at the point where it was left.
No external assistance is allowed inside the Gates.
In case of need, after validating arrival with the stamp on the PNK Passport, the participant may leave the Gate to carry out any work on their motorcycle.
– Transporting the motorcycle by other means along the route is prohibited without first notifying the organization and receiving authorization; otherwise, exclusion from the event applies.
– The organization does not provide baggage or other transport, in the spirit of autonomy and self-sufficiency of Paris–Nordkapp.
– Absolute respect for the territories and communities crossed is required. Anyone caught littering along the route or damaging the environment will be excluded from the event.
– For participants’ safety, the use of suitable equipment is mandatory (as listed below) and must be in good working order. The same applies to the motorcycle and its equipment.
Mandatory personal equipment: full-face/off-road helmet; complete protection for lower and upper limbs, shoulders and back; boots; approved gloves; first-aid kit; thermal blanket.
Mandatory motorcycle equipment: tyre repair kit (not required if a puncture-proof system is installed); basic tools; lights, indicators, and horn in perfect working order.

In case of definitive withdrawal, inform the organization by email.
